My rude awakening was trying to kick someone in the face while dreaming. Instead, I kicked a heavy duty tote next to my bed with bare feet. Was not happy about that, but mildly better than choking myself awake after farting under the covers.
Those of us whose eyes need optical correction (yes, I am one) either have surgery OR wear contacts or both.
Glasses break if trodden on, or fly off (sometimes) at 70mph on your motorcycle. THEN they break, if you can find them.
Not going back to obsolete technology and neither shoul Tom.
Not everyone can afford surgery (over here in South Carolina, it’s rare to be included even when the insurance covers eye care, and even that’s not always covered – lack of universal health care blows chunks), and those of us who have astigmatisms and require bifocals cannot wear contacts. And some folks just think they look better with glasses than without. Even after my dad had lasik, he still wore bifocals because the surgery didn’t correct his astigmatism.
Here in Aust. we have a Public Health System which subsidies or sets free health care. it’s a political decision (about 25 years ago) and yes, we pay for it with taxes.
You choose the political policies you want to kive under.
When I had a fall and broke both lower legs (tibia & lfibula), I spent four months in plaster, in hospital, ankle surgery (comminuted fracture right malleolus bone, plated & screwed) as a Public Patient – total cost $AUD 0.00.
My cataract surgery gave me the option (an extra $AUD620) for asymmetric replacement lenses to correct my astigmatism.
That said, i also have to wear glasses (magnifying) for close screen work (phone, tablet & desktop) but that’s because I’m 78 years old. Don’t need or want glasses for normal use or watching TV.
May you have what you wish for, then. I mean, some people like to stand in a queue, perhaps simply as a contact with other people. Just develop a habit of not looking at the crumbling ceilings while you still can.
America’s system is terrible, but we keep living with it because big pharma has convinced half the country that any attempted fix would be worse. You’re quoting propaganda, my friend, not facts.
The day after my second cataract surgery, I was told to get 2.5-3.0x magnification glasses. I did the usual and bought a pair at the local Pharmacy. $AUD 12.00-15.00
Since then I have researched and purchased online a set (5 pieces) 2.5x and a set of 3.0x (5 pieces) as my eyes deterorate. Each set less than $AUD10.00. One pair for the bedside, one for the computer desk and one pair for general (threadig needles, finding dropped objects etc.) Sunglasses a separate matter needing no correction.
…Oh, is he in for a rude awakening.

Ah, a suicide mission into another world… Now THAT is my kind of date.
“Boobs.. now with nipples!”
The big deal that’s about to happen will be very weird, not just for him but for his parents too
I feel like every date would go better with chocolate chip cookies in hand.
Finally, back to the good plot.
Yeah Dont care about bimbo and the nerd squad.
How about having his father wear Clark Kent style glasses.
Story left hanging. Is there a Chapter 2 and beyond. Also is the complete story in book form. Like the characters.
Thanks
How about having anyone and everyone who wears glasses wear the same kind glasses that Clark Kent wears.
This comic is set in the 2010s not the 1940s.

I wear glasses all the time. I don’t wear contacts because i don’t want to poke myself in the eye every morning and night.
And i don’t want surgery because glasses do the job fine.

Is South Carolina so economically destitute that the very ceilngs are crumbling?
At the point when it will have “universal health care” ± a few years, it will have crumbling ceilings in hospitals. That’s just how it works.
Still feelimg the economic effects of Reconstruction. then?

Been there done that with my sunglasses.
You know when he finds out what happened to his love of his life is going to be completely 1 of 2 things destrat or doom slayer mode.
As for the parents apparently they could not be proud over the fact that their son is dating noc
x style his future wife
Ben Franklin who was a founding father of the United States invented bifocals because of he himself had vision problems.
“I saw a documentary about Benjamin Franklin.”
“Oh? Did you learn anything interesting?”
“Did you know he had like thirty-five children but just one wife?”
“Surely that’s not all you learned about Ben Franklin.”
“Well, no, but you said ‘interesting.'”
I have Clark Kent style reading glasses from Walmart,s Vision Centre.
I need to get a spare pair.

So it,s very unlikely that we,ll see Clark Joesph Kent glassses.
This webtoon is 11 years old and still going, that is some fucking commitment right there.
