I know how this is going to sound to some people but I think it should be said. Remember, Midnight is a young woman. A young woman with a mild crush on her closest friend. Women tend to react emotionally rather than logically. Plus, when they’re upset as Midnight is, they tend to ignore any past negative attitudes toward someone if that someone can possibly give them comfort. Of course, once this is over, she’ll probably go back to hating him again. LOL
Yo, wut? Shadow’s gonna be executed? I thought she’d just stay in prison and they’d have to break her out or something. This took a turn. Or maybe that was explained in a previous comic and I’m just not observant
Actually, if I recall correctly, it’s explained in the story from which this comic comes. What that form of execution is, I can’t remember because it’s been a while since I read the story.
I predict next time, Ruth barges in, starts asking question about Shadows predicament, Tim asks his mom how she knows, and it’ll end up Ruth revealing to her son, that she’s a Noxian.
I must say, her hugging him at the end is a good out of character moment to show just how much the situation is hitting her that she either did it it without thinking or seeks comfort from him. It also shows that she cares more about Tin then she lets on, even if it’s only in this small way.
But how, Holmes? Tim cannot as much as stand close to a Noxian (even behind a door) without being noticed.
The only way is if Ruth intervenes. Seeing how Midnight knows about her and did not promise her anything…
HuH? Does Midnight “know about” Ruth?
SHADOW knows that Ruth is Lady Blackheart, but on which page does Shadow reveal Ruth’s secret identity to Midnight?
Recall that Lady Blackheart is also subject to a Noxian death sentence for ‘communicating’ with a human, so she has a good reason to stay hidden.
So the question now becomes if Shadow has the presence of mind to put the pieces together and suggest Tim get his mom to help since she is Noxian. Thus the shoe finally drops for Tim and it is revealed his mom is Noxian and just so happens to be Lady Blackheart. I’m not holding out much hope but it would make for a cool story of mom her son and Midnight against Nox to save Shadow. Probably though Tim and Midnight rush off without a plan or any preparation in hopes true love will overcome anything.
,,, if Shadow has …”
I think you mean Midnight. Shadow is incommunicado at the moment.
I had earlier suggested a whole hunting Party, Lady blackheart tom and Tim, at least Spencer (who IS his nighttime visitor?) and Craig. Maybe Marcy who could be useful in a brawl now she has met Shadow.
> since Midnight appears to be in NO HURRY to alert Tim to Shadow’s plight and start a rescue,
> what are the preferred methods of execution used in Nox?
Ladies and gentlemen… this is your brain on Hollywood.
Because obviously this must be what Midnight was planning to do: encourage Tim to smoothly infiltrate† Nox for a daring rescue-abduction. She only hit the snag at how to procure a white horse for him.
Rather than, for example, being deep in despair and trying to do exactly what she did: sought the only living creature to whom she could talk about this at all, and vent her rage at him while she is at it.
† recall that 100% of populace over there have teleempathic sense, which works quite nicely through solid matter (such as beds and closets), and allows to tell even a disguised Noxian from humans (#183). Thus at common indoor ranges purely visual disguises (like Shadow used on Halloween) — and these two don’t have even that — or even full concealment would be useless.
“Sir, this locomotive’s too heavy, she;ll SINK!'”
(Damn & Botheration, he’s noticed) “Are you questioning my orders, Number One?”
“Eeer… Nossir. Never, sir”
“Then steady as she goes Number One”
“Aye aye Sir Full speed ahead”
{Glub glub glub}
The train due on Platform Three has been indefinitely delayed.
See above, it’s useless. Their perception works quite well through the bed or closet (plus presumably empty air to the other side of a room).
Shadow identified Ruth as a Noxian under a magical disguise because she was there, but NOT detected as a human. Anomalous presence of a signal is always much more noticeable than anomalous absence. As far as the Noxians are concerned, a disguised or concealed human could as well ring a bell continuously.
Maybe only. Honestly not impossible. However Who knows what is inside the grimoire… Maybe the corresponding spell blocks the spécial perception of Noxian exactly like humans cannot see Ruth’s or Shadow’s disguise.
Shadow had some time to practice, and even then her disguise kept slipping whenever she was distracted. Moonie messed up another spell and is still glowing. Neither Tim nor even Midnight had extensive magic practice.
Besides, Ruth has her book back anyway. So once Midnight realizes what their best shot is, she will ask Ruth to do something about it.
That hug at the end supprised me did’nt think she would go their with him thought that she would never even shake his hand let alone hug him

maybe if we get lucky their might be a possible threesome in the future
Tim’s last face is ..’Hug! WWhat should I do now..? .. Oh tits!’
and inadvertent boner!
Midnight did not hate Tim as such. See the moments of sympathy in #93 and #186. It was just shoved aside by jealousy and worries for Shadow.
i thought he’d flip out
He is. Look at his face in the last panel.

Really sad. I hope Tim’s parents Will jump in right now !
I forgot: I really like how you Drew Tim’s êtes in the last picture.
I must say, her hugging him at the end is a good out of character moment to show just how much the situation is hitting her that she either did it it without thinking or seeks comfort from him. It also shows that she cares more about Tin then she lets on, even if it’s only in this small way.
She does not need to care about him, as such. But Tim is the only one with whom she can share this at all, no matter how much she resents him.
“there, there, little midnight, let’s talk about it, what happened?”
She knows he cares about Shadow too… she just doesn’t know how to help Shadow and she is upset… glad she finally told him…
Tim: Not if I can help it, she won’t!
But how, Holmes? Tim cannot as much as stand close to a Noxian (even behind a door) without being noticed.

She knows from Shadow, in #186.
Checked! Aha!
Midnight knows that Ruth is a Noxian because Shadow revealed that Tim is a hybrid, (Sigh! All very indirect, innit?)
So the question now becomes if Shadow has the presence of mind to put the pieces together and suggest Tim get his mom to help since she is Noxian. Yep sorry was early and my mind was only at 50% capacity. Midnight is indeed who I meant.

You must be smokin’ some good shit, brother.
Have you got enough for everybody here?
Squid ink!
Um Tum Sut!
why do I get feeling green guy going black mail shadow and her mom into letting him marry shadow or he will tell all about her and tim
or threaten kill Tim forcing shadow to marry him
then well get nightmare Tim popping in say no
Probably from the sound of his interest in her. ugh.. Hate those kind of stories, even with a “saves the day”
> or he will tell all about her and tim
Thanks to Nightmare, this train have sailed, didn’t it?

Personnaly, I Will love that Ruth Will use her grimoire to give Tim a Noxian body as she did with Shadow for her human form. That would be a blast!
Maybe he already looks human because of magic 😛

Tim’s face says it all.
