There are several steps involved before they can intervene.
The first step is to wake them up, then let them know what the situation is, then watch as Ruth goes full Lady Blackheart.
Last time we saw them, they were standing at the door listening.

To me the probability is average. Maybe they caught the cries from both people. If they supposed there was something afoot then they will if not, the probability is low (unless Tim will call for them which is of low probability considering he doesn’t want to acknowledge the true form of his mother)
As yet, Tim does not know that his mother is Noxian.
She has tried to have that conversation with him but he was too distracted at the time.
Yeah, there really is no (useful) way out of this scene without at least getting parents involved. Midnight knows Tim’s secret, so she knows who Tim’s mom is or at least that she is a noxian. She could press the issue without dropping the truth by simply threatening to go to them “for reasons”. This is actually the perfect chance for the truth to come out to him anyway. Good enough reason to not wait or fear telling him.
I disagree, nothing has been shown that Shadow has said to Midnight who actually is Ruth. That is only supposition considering Shadow and Midnight at best friends. For the moment, that is only an assumption, not sure.
Shadow told Midnight about her little talk with Ruth. See #186 (and implicitly some more offscreen).

P.S. Not saying this is likely to be what he does. I expect the ‘adults are useless’ trope to be on full display here, but I’d love to be wrong.
How can Tim reach Nox without an aegis of his own? Can he use (take by force?) Midddy’s one?

Can an aegis operate for ANY holder or does each one have to be initialised for its own user?

Questions can lead to attempts to “fix for realism” (ugh) in the future sometimes. In modern times esp.
If a fabric is of the right material and is sheer enough, static electricity tends to make it cling to a body.
Can be extra clingy if it’s slightly damp or the body in question is sweaty.
In the Regency era young women were known to dampen their muslin to make it cling more.
Mostly the Aegis keeps things clasped nicely closed, the rest is cartoon logic. Just look at the pretty pictures. Haha

He’s right.. not about doing something herself OC but coming to attack him, thus wasting all this time.
It’s sad to know that she even knows what happen to people put down there.. means it’s happened before. Some poor monster girl was deaded before.
Now is the time to tell your parents.. I fear he will resist thinking they just somehow found out about Shadow and know no more. I hope midnight has the sense, knowing the truth about him, to force him o at least tell his parents. Threatening to do it herself should do the trick. She doesn’t even need to spill the secret in order to succeed. Now would be a good time for mom to explain though. No sure how we can get through this scene without in fact.
wait.. was there a prison visit and then chase (of him) scene,… before parents got involved? Can’t remember. Feels like he’s going o demand she take him to her or something.. given what he said about MN not going to her and coming here instead. Hope not.

Ruth was put into the cells after her indiscretions, and as far as everyone else is concerned, she died in them. Only a few people knows that she was exiled

Actually, she was never put in the cells. They came for her and she successfully escaped on her own “never to be seen again” well, except for whispers of some new woman skulking around the shadows.
I am sure at some point I will have the opportunity to retell that tale.
To start with this story was much more adult-orientated. Now it seems more like a pre-teen friendly story. Has the author changed his mind about who this story is written for?
The heck? Haha the part where they were kids for three years was Adult oriented and when it switched t them being more grown up it became for teens? Are we reading the same story?
