Well, let me just tell you that I have another vacation coming up the week of the 17th because my work has been forcing me to use my vacation time lately since I have so much built up, and this next vacation should square that up for a while.
However, that vacation falls on one of my “off” weeks, so it shouldn’t impact the comic from remaining on the usual schedule… I hope. I can’t 100% promise anything since I cannot read the future.

Oh damn it… I thought we were keeping those links out so as not to spoil things for people who started with the comic? I mean events and details are going a lot differently (new/more characters and orgs etc) but.. certain details are almost assuredly the same (and already hinted at in the later pages here) and still big spoilers.
I mean, if the author left the text up on a public website—and one that is publicly linked to them and in fact links directly to this site–then what would the point be in hiding it from readers? It’s not like you’re *forcing* someone to click through and read spoilers they don’t want to see. (And if your self-control is so poor you want to read the comic without spoilers but can’t resist reading the prose once you know it exists, there’s really no helping you.)
Heck, since it is prose that is published and stands on its own, it’s not really a “spoiler” to read it anyway, any more than reading the novel the TV series or manga is based on is a spoiler for the adaptation.
Mostly I don’t share it because I think it sucks, haha. The idea is solid, but my writing? Well there’s a reason I’m drawing comics and not writing novels!
I recall that Brandon had recommended that his “comic readership” NOT pursue hs original novella.
Even though I later learned its location and his nom de plume that was enough.
If Brandon thinks it would detract from my enjoyment of the comic, page by page release, then that’s good enough.
If it’s available, then there’s no reason for readers to deprive themselves if they wish to read it (and once again, they’re not forced to).
When people are fond of a story, they naturally tend to jump on any available material. And usually enjoy it even if it may be a first draft and not perfect yet. It doesn’t matter to true fans. 🙂

admitted, i think there’s a few things that id do a little differently. and would have done differently, im hoping that there is a major change or two in the future, but tbh, i think its one of those things that might have to happen either way.
that said, no the prose version doesnt suck, it may just need polish is all.
Probably why Japanese authors always release a repolished light novel version of they original free web novel once they revise it, often when launching the manga and/or anime versions and some minor flaws or omissions get detected.
Some people do like reading novels. And equally enjoy the sketched or animated version when it comes out or catches up.
And it’s not like they’re forced to read the novel anyway. Spoiling would be quoting the actual text here in the comments. It’s nothing like that.
And some people do like to read the spoilers, then run to a discussion of the ongoing thing and put airs like they are blessed with possession of some Secret Knowledge dripping from them.
That said, it’s not even an adaptation, but the next version, so… these can be rather confusing spoilers. :]

Presumably, if they catch them, they would strip them out of their gear before throwing them in the prison.
Hey Brandon, if Midnight and Tim get caught, and they get stripped of their gear like HKMaly said, would that mean that Tim’s bag and all of its contents would be taken or would he just straight-up stripped naked for all of the female noxians to see his giant erect penis due to being naked in public, cuz i could totally see the all of the female noxians(quite possibly including Midnight) being impressed with his thing, and quite possibly jealous that Shadow has Tim all to herself.
You’re guess is as good as mine! I have no idea what they’d do to Tim if he got caught, so infer from that what you will.
If Brandon hasen’t envisaged what happens “IF” they are caught, then that’s a fair clue that they won’t be.
I dunno why, but for some reason, I hope that they do get caught. And I’m genuinely curious as to how the noxians would deal with the intruders, and how they would react IF and/or WHEN they are captured. ¦¦-D
Maybe Shadow and Midnight will get away, but Tim is caught and is taken in front of Highmother Moonlight, who finding him desirable, strips him naked and proceeds to… “Interrogate” him.

So she without doubt remembers and understands the secret about him and accepts it. (maybe why she seems more friendly and.. ‘interested’ in and flirty with him) Which means she has to understand that he is likely in bigger danger than even Shadow if caught.. A human can be sent back, maybe even magic to erase memories or something but… a hybrid is… they won’t be happy.. But then again, there is reason to suspect that hybrids aren’t easy for them to detect. So there’s that.
Still though, a big risk. Why doesn’t she suggest going to his parents? She has to know who Ruth is and that she was helping Shadow. (like with the magic book and Halloween) I mean i can maybe understand not wanting to be the cause of him finding out, esp right now but….

Well, she only knows Tim is a hybrid. She doesn’t know who his parents are, other than one of them is Noxian. Keep in mind she still doesn’t exactly LIKE humans, she’s just doing this for Shadow and involving more humans is probably quite off-putting to her.

They might not have to bust Shadow out of jail. If the law is written along the lines of “you’re not allowed to have sex with humans”, she can walk free on a technicality, after all, Tim isn’t a human. But then they’d have to try and arrest a former highmother who has probably been storing 2 or more decades worth of emotionally energy from her partner’s love. To quote Lucius Fox “Good luck”.
I suspect that will create a whole bunch of new, maybe even more serious, problems. A hybrid might actually be an even bigger social, ethical, moral and LEGAL issue for their society. Tim might be killed on sight level of ‘in-trouble’
Not necessarily “have to”. After all, she is self-exiled and avoided bringing any trouble to them for well over a decade. By and large, the approach to such “expatriates” that minimizes risks of unnecessary interactions with humans is to just cut them off and ignore completely if possible. The Noxians don’t seem to be the sort who would try to escalate any conflict unto absurdity on a general principle.
