I’ve never been first before. Pure accident that.
I wonder if her relationship with Tim fucks up Terminus’ plans. Like if there is some sort of Noxian cultural thing around virginity or something. Or involvement with humans. Given how sexually liberal the other two girls were, I’d guess not.
Considering how much Terminus has been banging, I don’t think it matters much to him.
And its worse the fact that he banged a human and got her pregnant, could be a matter of time before someone in Nox finds out)?
I was debating whether to call out his body count and how it might relate to him selecting Shadow, but forgot if a certain ritual involving bonded pairs to officiate their union is still a thing. They would both fail it, and I also don’t remember if Terminus even has factored that into his plans and it doesn’t seem relevant to the Door itself. If I’m remembering SOMETHING right he’s just trying to acquire the territory where the Door is from the Sisterhood, and taking Shadow essentially as a bride is part of the political process involved.

When dealing with “all that”, you find comforts and peaceful moments where you can. Also, never underestimate the power of a good hot soak.

I can’t help but notice Nightmare’s body language. At first, she’s standing “high & mighty”, but when she gets close to Shadow, she crouches down from her “oh-so-superior-to-thee” pose. This brings to mind a few “narrative art” based questions for you, Brandon;
1. Was that just a way to fit Nightmare fully into frame (not that we couldn’t tell who it was from those thighs on down! Yowza!!) or…
2. …is it a subtle reflection of how Shadow is, excuse the pun, eclipsing her own status with Terminus?
3. Given her pop culture background thanks to growing up with Tim, would it be out of character for Shadow’s last word bubble to say, “sigh…and right down Elm Street I go.”…and with a “Nightmare”, no less?
And, on that note, I will leave you with this “saga” of Tim and Shadow’s shared childhood;
One, two, Shadow’s coming for you.

Seven, eight, gonna stay up late.
Nine, ten, watching movies again.
For some reason this reminds me of going ten for Ninjago (man, you love a show when you listen to it’s music a lot)
I Agree… DAMN Nightmare is a Hottie! Why IS that not “enough” for Terminus? Seriously she’s a Babe!!
For some people, especially the ones who have an overinflated sense of “ego” and “ambition”, there will never be enough sex, territory, position, prestige and/or violence to fill that black hole at their core. It’s very “all for me/zero sum game” sort of thinking which, tragically, can blind them to the good things they have already in their lives.
All that being said, without knowing more about him, I cannot say if Terminus fits exactly into that mindset, but the signs are there.
On the flip-side, Tim shows a lot more restraint, self-awareness and empathy. Certainly, he’s young and still learning, but his heart is in the right place and he’s not afraid to show it. (…which is why I roll my eyes a bit when readers cheerlead the “Woo hoo! Fuck all them babes, man!” bullshit. I understand it, but that does not seem to jive with Tim’s groove; masculine, but not to a toxic level.)

Can’t be sure but the crouch and the tail language here might be hinting at some sympathy, or at least empathy. Termite has burned both of them, after all, in different ways.

A cleared and relaxed mind may help make Shadow’s thoughts more coherent and help in her escaping her situation.
At the risk of making this sound dirty, “buttering her up” may make her “slippery” enough to get out of the frying pan?
The more I think about it, yeah…it is definitely dirty. But, given the groove of this comic, I can live with that. Now, if Brandon could find a way to have Tim introduce Shadow to Cool-Whip…
